Winter-proof your Summer months

Although it feels like we have skipped a few seasons and landed in winter, we are staying positive here at Thriva HQ that the warm weather is around the corner.

Until that weather decides to grace us with it's presence it seems that we are in for a few grey days - so don't pack away those winter clothes just yet! 

If you, like a few of us here, had underestimated how cold it has been and are now sniffling with a head cold it's time to focus on boosting your immune system so when the good weather does come around you can take full advantage of it. 

Ensure you are you eating the right food - food can play a big role in keeping colds at bay so have a look at the list below and see if there is anything that you can introduce or increase your intake of:

  • Citrus fruits (oranges / grapefruit / lemons etc)

  • Ginger

  • Broccoli

  • Almonds (packed with Vitamin E)

  • Spinach

  • Poultry

Vitamins, Vitamins, Vitamins - no surprise that these feature here and I'm sure we all know we should be taking more so please don't disregard this point, have a read and commit to at least one which you will buy and start taking today:

  • Vitamin C

  • Magnesium

  • Zinc

  • Vitamin B

  • Vitamin E

Be sure to catch those ZZZ's - your body uses sleep to repair & recharge so if you are not getting enough sleep you are missing out on prime immune boosting time.  

Armed with the right food, some assistance from your vitamins and a decent night's sleep you will keep that cold at bay and be ready for your first summer BBQ!
